this seat was so hard for me to install! i first made the line on the seat parallel to the ground like it said, but the seat was laying almost flat. i used a rolled up towel to get it where it is. it still doesn't look right to me, but i dont want to fix it till i have a better idea of where it should be. im going to take it to get checked, but the soonest check in my area isnt until very near my due date, and i had dd1 early so i want some sort of installment before then :o . the seat is very tight, just not sure about the angle. help! lol. btw, this is my first time posting here, and ive learned a lot from this site. i love it! hope this picture works... http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn14/leeuhhh82/homeschooling1018.jpg

sorry that was so huge. the pic isnt great because the door to my car doesn't open very far. drives me nuts! i can try and get a better one if need be.

That looks pretty good to me. The best indicator will be your baby. If his/her head falls forward, chin to chest, the seat is too upright. It's ok if the head falls to the side, just not straight forward.

I think it looks a little over-reclined, but it is hard to tell from the angle of the pic. Your rolled-up towel seems to have flattened, though. You might need to re-roll it nice & tight, and then wrap some tape around it to keep it from spreading out while you're installing the carseat. I think that's going to end up reclining the carseat even more, though. Maybe a smaller towel? Or could you cut up this one?

It looks okay to me. Here's a pic of mine when I had a NB in it...

omg that picture totally renewed my baby fever, lol. i have not seen a newborn in so long! yeah the towel is thin (i was too chicken to sacrifice a nice towel) and im sure after my preggo self was kneeling on the seat it got squashed. heheh. maybe ill roll it up and tape it and see how thick it ends up looking- i have no prob with cutting it up if it looks like it will make the seat too reclined.

The recline angle looks like it is fine if you were to be looking at it from the side. The True Fit is one of those seats that the angle it looks from the outside doesn't completely match the angle the baby is at inside the seat. From what I can tell the line isn't quite parallel to the ground so it's not over-reclined. I think it's close enough that it's a sufficient recline though.

As someone mentioned, the true test will be once baby is in there.

Did you shorten the straps to the shorter set of loops? You'll probably want to do that before baby is born - I suspect with a newborn the shorter set of loops will be needed for awhile.
