I am leaving to go out of town for weekend, was to leave 2 hrs ago, but have been FIGHTING with this seat for 1 1/2 hrs!!! I tried to use pool noodle but could not get tight. So is this reclined at all? My hands hurt so bad I am about to call my sister and tell her I'm not coming!!! I am starting to really dis-like this Como.

I'm sorry that it's been such a struggle! Was the issue just getting a proper recline, or was there more to it?

If the noodle won't work you can try a tightly rolled towel instead, if you need it more reclined.

I don't have a program to measure the exact angle from your pictures, but I do think it looks okay for a 23 month old. Just be sure that his head doesn't flop forward when he sleeps, and he should be okay. The seat can be anywhere from 30-45 degrees from vertical.

Also, when checking for tightness, be sure that you're only checking at the belt path (where the LATCH strap or seatbelt passes through the car seat). As long as it moves less than 1" in any direction at the belt path, the seat is tight. Movement at the opposite end, near your child's head, is normal.

Good for you for caring so much about getting your son's seat properly installed.

The issue started with getting the seat tight because I had to move my vehicle seat forward for my Mom to fit behind it for our trip. Once moved up the seat belt would not get a tight install. I had to try for close to an hour to get the latch tight, and once I gave up on the noodle, and got a tight install without it, my hands hurt and were shaking to bad to un install and try a towel( which is what I usually try first).
Thank you so much for the reply. I think my son will fall asleep as soon as we get going so if his head falls over then I'll stop and try to fix it then. Again Thank you!:)
