Ok, seriously. What exactly was Jeep thinking when making these vehicles? They are FAMILY cars and marketed as such, but you can't get a dang car seat or booster in it without voodoo magic or something. When I had the Regent in, I could recline the seat back, climb in and get it in with LBP. It was a pre-advisory, so that's what worked and it fit it under the head rest enough to make it a good install. That's the only other FF experience I have, but GAH!

So this is what is happening with the Monterey.

Reclining the seat back makes it worse. I'm not opposed to removing the headrests, *IF* they can be replaced. Does anyone know if that's possibe? I also don't want to pay to have them removed...this is a flaw in Jeep's design and it shouldn't come out of my pocket to make the fix. Is it ok to not have a head rest behind the Monterey? I assume this will be a problem no matter which HBB I get and she's not a great fit in low back boosters. GAH!

And dd2 in her new cushy TF. I wonder if this is be an issue with FF time comes?

Just thought about something...the center doesn't have the headrest. If it will puzzle, since the TF is RF'ing, I could put her in the middle until I can figure out about the headrests. I'll try that later this evening.

Although I can't answer the question about the headrests other than to concur that yes, they are horribly unfriendly to CRSs, I can tell you the Monterey does NOT required a vehicle headrest behind it :)

I think with the new headrest rules this is going to become an issues in a lot of vehicles down the road in the very near future. We are already starting to see it in several makes (Volvo, GM, Jeep & Honda).

Jenny, this is what we heard at my ceu class this summer. I can't remember exactly what they said about the new rules but it appears this will definitely become more and more of a problem in the future. YUCK.

Will you let me know if these seats puzzle together? Thanks!
