Ok...the TF is a wonderful seat, but it's pretty big RF for an older kid. That's part of it's wonderfulness, cuz you get that great long shell for ERF. I couldn't get it in with the seat belt at all. I have fixed belt stalks and they are forward of the bite. They aren't crazy forward, but because of the lock offs on the TF, it made it impossible to get them closed. I had to use a rolled up towel (I'll grab a noodle or a positioner this weekend) and that's really where the problem came in. I got it in and the lock offs closed with the seatbelt but she was crazy straight up and down, definitely beyond 35 degrees. So I rolled up the towel, got a better position, then the seat belt went through the belt path kind of on top of the lock off and there was no closing it. My LATCH anchors are kind of awkwardly positioned for my taste, so I usually don't use them. Aaaanyway...I did and got it in with the rolled towel. No movement at all. But, I'm a little concerned my 6'2" DH will have issues driving with the way the seat is. She has to be behind the driver because of the drop off situation at school (7 year old on passenger side). So, we'll see when he gets home if he can deal with it. I scooted it back as far as I could go without moving the TF off the seat. If it would work, is it safe to kind of wedge the top of the shell under the raised headrest of the front seat? If that would give him a little more leg room, and it's safe, I think I could do that.
I also have a lovely pink Monterey sitting in my floor waiting for my 7 year old. How crazy is it that I'm considering picking her up a little early from school just to see her in the seat? LOL.
Stayed tuned for pics.
