View Full Version : Radian - buckle twisted wrong?

I got my Radian (Premier, Canadian model) and am installing in the 3rd row centre position of our 1996 Mercury Villager (same as Nissan Quest).

The stalks are a bit long and required twisting, but after buckling, it is parallel to the seatback. This isn't right, is it? How do I change it? Picture is attached.

The Radian is reclined, and seat is tight without tether...tether was tightened after installation.
Thanks!
Cindy

I take it you tightened the belt AFTER you took that picture, because it looks like there is loads of slack.

As long as the seat is tight and the buckle is not sitting on the edge of the beltpath, you don't have to worry about the angle that the buckle is at.

No, the seat is tight...the belt you see is actually the tail end of it (it's a lap belt). I thought I read somewhere on here that it wasn't OK for it to be parallel to the seat back - something about it being able to turn back around and be loose? Am I recalling wrong?

OK, I'm not really seeing it right then. But if it's tight, it's tight.

Here a different view - does that help? Is it OK for the button to be against the seatback also? Thanks!

Yea Im having a hard time sorting out the belt parts too it looks like there is a twist in the buckle in the male part of the belt but it is probably an illusion. Id like to know if its okay for it to be parallel also.
OK, I'm not really seeing it right then. But if it's tight, it's tight.

The male end is flipped over to ensure the lap belt is locked. I can take more pictures if need be...perhaps move the tail end away?

It would help us to see it better. But no real need to, as long as the seat is tight :)
