I know it is good as far as tightness goes. It will barely budge at the belt path.

Form wise it looks good although I see a locking latchplate on that seatbelt, which means you shouldn't need the locking clip. (Or did we discuss this and your latchplate is broken? I'm drawing a blank :o)

Is the locking clip resting on the edge of the belt path? It needs to be a little closer to the latchplate so that it doesn't do that.

No we didn't ;) I was up in the air as to whether or not I needed to use it. So I do need to take the locking clip off? I guess that would solve the other issue you mentioned.

Also, could I get tethers installed in this van? It is 1995 dodge caravan.

ETA: 1 more thing. Is there any way to get it to install more upright? Or is that just the way it is with this vehicle seat?

From the looks of the first picture, it looks like there is a little more room to push the carseat back into the vehicle seat near the bight. Can you try tightening it while pushing down and back towards that area, and forward at the top of the shell?

LOL, ok. No, you shouldn't need a llocking clip for that vehicle. The latchplate does the job. If you find it isn't as tight as it could be, flip the male buckle one half turn before buckling it in.

For a more upright install, check your vehicle manual. If it doesn't forbid it, I would incline the vehicle seatback *up* one click and then reinstall the seat.

Yes, you can get tether anchors installed in all rear positions in that vehicle. The part number is 05017529AB

Chrysler will install in certain older model vehicles free of charge. Have the dealer refer to Technical Service Bulletin 23-029-08 for details.

Tether anchors should be able to be added. Hopefully someone with a manual will come along soon.

You can try it without the locking clip. Those are lightweight locking plates - sometimes the angle of the belts makes them loosen over time.

As far as the recline goes - is the vehicle seatback all the way upright? I can't remember if Chrysler's of that era had a reclining bench or not.

For a more upright install, try using your knees to push the front edge of the carseat towards the back of the vehicle. Once it's back as far as it can go, hold it there while you tighten the seatbelt. Once the front edge of the carseat is digging into the vehicle seat, you can kneel in the carseat and rock back and forth a little bit to tighten the seatbelt further.

You can get TAs in 4/5 of the rear positions. It's not available for 3rd row passenger side outboard.

It looks like the kickstand part is digging into the cushions, keeping the bottom portion of the carseat pretty far forward. Focus on getting that back before you push down and back on the carseat as you tighten.

Thanks, ladies. I will try these trick tomorrow and report back. :)
