I know that some cars don't allow a restraint to touch the seat in front of it.

My vehicle manual says, "Do not install a child restraint system on the rear seat if it interferes with the lock mechanism of the front seats." Bolding mine. It then shows a picture showing a front seat hitting a rfing convertible.

To me, this wording means that as long as the recline of the front seat is in a locked position that it doesn't matter if it touches. What does it mean to you?

Then it goes on to say, "If the driver's seat position does not allow sufficient space for safe installation, install the child restraint system on the rear right seat."

This to me kind of indirectly says to me to not let me touch.

No where does it explicitly say to not allow them to touch.

My MA and BLVD both touch the seat in front of them, should I change that?

TIA.

Are you referring to your vehicle manual or your child restraint manual? (Sorry, I don't recognize offhand whether that wording is from the MA manual. :p) If it's from your Britax manual, and your vehicle manual doesn't specifically prohibit having a child restraint touching the vehicle seat, then I think you're fine.

I take it that's from the vehicle manual?

To me, it says that as long as the front seatback is in a locked position, it's fine to touch the seat. As long as the carseat is also installed correctly (one inch of movement at the belt path, and also the front seatback is not pushing the child restraint up and off the seat).

Yes, it is the vehicle manual.

Thanks, I'm leaving it then.

yes, to me it sounds like as long as the vehicle seat is locked into position ( as opposed to being so far forward it isn't locked, like when you pull the lever to have the seat flip forward.) you can have the seat installed there.
