I really hope someone can help! we just installed 3 across in '03 jetta & 2 seemed to be lopsided because of the angle of the seat edge (the outer edges of the seats are sloped). neither of the outboard car seats is past the edge, but rather just up to the last 1/2 inch of the edge & the slant of the seat causes the carseat to lean. we put some styrofoam under one & a blanket under the other & that seemed to work (the bubble in the keyfit reads level). The seats are in very tightly - they do not move even a little bit when pulled & all appear to be sitting level. The seats we have are 2 radian80's & a keyfit 30 (outboard passenger side). I've heard that you shouldn't have anything under the car seat, but it can't be ok to leave them leaning, right? is it ok to have these things under the seats or is there another solution that will work? any help would be GREAT! thanks

A slight tilt is fine, although visually annoying. Putting stuff under a car seat to level it side to side is not. I have a slight tilt in my outboard seats as well (2005 Corolla) and I can usually get outboard seats pretty level just by putting my weight more to the side while installing.

thanks...we'll try again with nothing under the seats - i hope we can get them as snug cause right now they really feel like part of the car! i'm planning a trip to car seat check later this week & wanted to know ahead of time if we can use something to level them out so we don't waste our time w/the tech

Nope, as stated, you cannot 'level out' a CRS.
Also, you need to be sure your seats are independently secure. Once you have all three in, take out the middle seat and make sure the outer ones still move less than an inch.
