I've looked all over here and can't find info on the orientation of the top tether hook (?) for a rf Marathon in the passenger captain's chair of a 2000 Ford Windstar. The passenger seat in front of it has a tether anchor point, and my manual says you have to flip the tether backwards before attaching, but how does tht apply to a rf seat? There's nothing in my manual and I couldn't find anything on here either. Common sense tells me that I just go straight down to it, as that would be the same orientation if the MA was ff on the seat it is anchored to, if that makes any sense. This is my first car with latch, I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl :D Thanks in advance!

Quite honestly, I'm not sure! I have a 2000 Windstar but it has power front seats so no tether anchor so I use the D-ring, and therefore don't have to wonder! Maybe someone else can be of more help!

If I'm understanding you correctly.... you want to tether a rfing MA to the front passanger seat, using the tether anchor that is there for putting ffing seat in the front, and you are wondering if it is ok to flip the hook over in order to attach it? If so, yes I believe it is fine as there is no other way to attach the hook. I have never asked Britax if this is acceptable and I don't think I saw it in the manual not to... plus, I saw my instructor do it, so I'm assuming it is fine.

I've wondered that too and came to the same conclusion as you. I don't have any reference to back that up, though.

The Windstar manual states to tether upside down, as seen here (http://car-seat.org/showpost.php?p=535589&postcount=2).
Britax confirmed in a training session that it's okay to rf tether directly to an unused TA on the seat in front of the rf convertible.

Okay thanks, that's what I did. Only the driver's seat has power, so the passenger seat has a tether anchor. I guess I could always use the D-ring too. Thanks again!

You do NOT need to flip the hook to use the tether anchor on the front seat of a Ford for a rearfacing tethered seat in the second row.
Because the seat is coming from behind instead of in front, the anchor is actually rotated in the correct direction automatically
(We have the same setup in a Ford Freestar with a Rearfacing Britax Wizard)
