We are headed to the Bahamas in March with our 7 month old. We can walk most places, but will need to rent a car or taxi to/from the airport & possibly for dinner a couple nights.
I'm not sure if we will end up renting a car, so if not do we even bring our seat? She has to be on our lap on the flight (we couldn't get her a seat) & I don't even know if we would be able to install our seat in various taxis - who knows what we'll find!
Any insight/advice is helpful! Thanks!!!

Where in the bahamas are you going?

We travel to Abaco every year for 3 weeks, and finding a car seat for a rental car is a challenge (that is an understatement). We only rent maybe once every 3 or 4 years for just one day to explore the main island, and know that the quality of the seat will be iffy at best. If your going to be renting a car for more then a few days, i would bring along your own seat.

As for Taxi, you will not need a car seat, i do believe the laws are the same in the Bahamas as they are in Canada.

We'll be staying on Paradise Island & exploring Nassau as well. I'm just torn between having my own seat & renting a car & being all set, but only using it to go to & from the airport (kind of a waste) OR relying on taxis, possibly seat-less.
I know it's legal to be seat-less in a taxi, but is it generally considered safe?

It's not safe in the US to not use a seat, why would it be safe in the Bahamas? :scratcheshead:

The laws of physics are the same in the Bahamas. ;) Take her seat. Hopefully there is a cancellation and she can use it on the flight as well.
