I swear, this man has tried every darn brand. He wears them out after about 3 mos use. They arent cheap, and its bad for his feet.
This is what he needs:
Slip resistant
Water resistant (they arent going to be submerged in water, but he does get wet sometimes)
3/4 top/high top
Steel toe
And, if possible, flexible and light. (<---yeah, I know Im dreaming)
Anyway, help me find him some boots. :o
TIA

My DH swears by Redwing. They are expensive but well worth it. I think they have a warranty as well. OOO and they are American Made!

I swear by White's (http://www.whitesboots.com/) The make the best boots ever and the only ones I have ever had last more than 3 mo. A pair of mine last about 18 mo now and then can be rebuilt at 1/2 the cost. They make lots of different kinds and will even custom make then to your feet. They are not cheap, but definitely worth it to me. You can even call them and they can talk you through exactly what you need/want.I have a regular pair and a winter pair and I love them.

I love Red Wing:love: It's a quality boot that lasts forever and you can have it resoled again and again.

:yeahthat:
I know they are expensive but really by the time I added up the cheap ones dh was destroying we came out cheaper with Redwings. They have all the features you listed. We've always had great customer service there.

Ohh, you can resole Redwing's? Cool, I think that would be good for him, he does lots of walking.
Where would you have them resoled? A regular ole' shoe man, or the company itself?
I dont mind spending $$ on shoes that will last longer, I think its totally worth it. He on the other hand...:sigh:

My dad always wore redwings. You can probably have them resoled wherever you buy them, or at least ask about it there.

My DH loves his Georgias and Danners.
Red Wing, White, and Danners. I used to sell work boots, lol.
What is he wearing out? The sole, the leather?

The sole, and they aren't water resistant anymore. His socks are soaked sometimes. Hes just hard on shoes in general. lol
Where can I find a deal?
The sole? So get a pair that you can resole. Really though, buy two pair. Switch off every other day. It really helps.

The store we buy our Redwings at resoles them there. They'll also oil and clean them.
Georgias - DH tried them but totally couldn't stand them. I don't think they were bad quality but he is flat footed and I think that had something to do with it. Just thought I'd throw that out in case you DH is flat footed.
My husband often soaks his Redwings and has never had a problem. They aren't labeled water proof just water resistant but he's never ended up with wet socks.
DH just started doing the switching pairs thing every other day last year after the Redwing lady told him it would help and he seems to think it is.
Sorry I couldn't remember how to do multiple quotes so I hope I got everything.

Our local redwing resoles and it normally takes less then a week to get it done too.
I have two different pairs too and it really helps it you switch them so they can dry if you are getting them really wet. I have just a regular everyday pair that I can wear when I'm driving and then I have a heavy duty logger pair that I wore when I did factory work or out in the snow. The logger ones aren't comfortable for driving because they come up so far on my calves but when I worked as a butcher they were great because they had so much support and I could just hose the blood off of them.

DH has insulated Redwings and non-insulated Wolverines. He really likes both of them. They aren't waterproof, but can be treated with a waterproofer. DH used to sell work boots, so he can usually answer questions if you're wondering about anything in particular.
Oh, I see Judi used to sell work boots too. :)

my husband's all time favorite boots are rockys
(you can't get too too light of course when they are steel toes though)

I know Rocky's are big in Ohio because the company is located here. I will also ask DH what brands he uses.

Ok - so he wears

Loves them - lighter weight - don't believe they are steel-toe, maybe?

Waterproof and steel-toed - heavy - very affordable compared to other work shoes.
