With the Britax sales going on I am trying to decide what to do with my carseat situation.

DD1 (3 years/30lbs) is FF in a marathon/boulevard (my car/dh's car). There is one more harness slot left on her marathon (she is tall).

DD2 is 7 months old.

I can either:
1) buy new carseats now (boulevards) for DD2 and leave DD1 in her current carseats.
or
2) buy a frontier/nautilus for DD1 and use the marathon/boulevard we currently have for DD2

WWYD?
Thank you

I vote for option 2. With option 1, you will likely be buying Frontier/Nautilus a year or 2 form now anyway.

I vote for 2 too. If you're going to buy a new car seat, buy the one that will last the longest and pass down the others.

I'm sort of in the same situation, and I'm going to buy a new seat for my preschooler as well, and pass her MA down to my baby ...

I personally would buy two nautilus' for the older one. As long as the other ones that your older child are in aren't going to expire this year or something. As long as they have a bit more time in them I would use those for the baby. You can always get the baby more down the road.

I'd buy a FFing only seat for DD1 and use the current seat for DD2. -- You'll have to get that anyway, and you pay a premium of price for a seat that faces both rear-facing and forward-facing.

I vote for option #2.
