What is the deal with this store? I have ordered several things in the past from them but I would really hate to have a real problem with a product and have to get in contact with them. They don't answer their phone or return email's. I finally got some guy on the phone one morning this week. I asked what the date of manufaturing was on a carseat. He said that it was mid last year. I then asked if it(marathon) was a 33lb rear facing limit or a 35 lb. He said it says it is a 33lb. I asked if it could be a misprint because I called Britax and they said they stopped making that seat as of Feb last year. He got my number and said he would find out but he never returned the call. Has anyone ordered this seat from them that might know the answer?

I had a friend that ordered from them last week and got a Jan 2009 man. date. The seat was literally a week and a half old when she got it.

I've ordered quite a bit from them and never had a problem. I think the only issue is when buying discontinued or closeout seats and then you're getting a discount that should make up for whatever time your missing:twocents:

i ordered a discontinued MA from them (ashley floral) in early january and the DOM was 11/08. i was very pleased, however, yes their CS does leave much to be desired. when i ordered a seat from them last time i was pregnant (in 2005) i was glad i ordered early - because after several weeks and unreturned emails i was still without a seat. i finally got a hold of someone on the phone that told me the seat i had purchased was out of stock - and even then, it still took a few more phone calls and a few more weeks to be refunded.

Thanks so much for your replies. I think my only concern was that I would be getting an old marathon that had the old 33# rear facing limit.
Actually, it is the ashley floral that I am going to order. It sounds like the manufactured date would be fairly new enough to get me the 35# limit.
Thank you!

Keep in mind, they are in New York and the ice storm that devastated the midwest went all the way to Maine. It is possible they had bad weather and were closed.
I emailed them Friday about an order I placed and received a response in a few hours.

Most of the Ashley Floral seats were just manufactured towards the end of last year and Britax removed them from the MAP pricing since they were closing them out. I'm pretty sure you'll be getting a 35#er
