I went to Target today and got a True Fit so that I could try it in my car. I have a 96 Lumina. I haven't tried to install it yet but when it is sitting in the center of my back seat it is almost touching the front seats. Is that okay? I just want to make sure its not too large for my car. It looks like it just barely fits although you could definitely fit a person comfortably on each side of it in the back seat. It's a really nice carseat. I moved my seat and the passenger seat up a couple inches. Will it be okay as long as it isn't touching the front seats? Is there a rule about that? Thanks

In her other post here...http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?p=708405#post708405... she is using it RF. OP if I remember correctly it can touch the seats with the headrest, but without the headrest it can not touch.;) If someone has their manual handy they might could let you know for sure.

With the headrest on it can touch- I'm not sure if you can brace it, but I do know you can have it touching. It's quite possibly safer that way, because it will help the car seat ride down with the car rather than on it's own. If it allows for bracing I would brace it, but I'm not sure if it does. If you have front airbags it's also very important for the driver and passenger to be as far away from the air bags as is possible, your safety is important too  .
Another thing to consider is angle- you can have car seats more upright with an older child (I think the True Fit can be upright up to 35 degrees). Good luck
