UAS limit clarification

My car has a 48 lbs. UAS weight limit. Can someone verify if that refers to the weight of the child combineded with the seat weight or just the weight of the child?

My car seat (22 lbs.) and my DS (34 lbs.) equal 56lbs. I installed his seat using the lap/shoulder belt with the understanding that the weight of both exceed the UAS limit.

Am I right?

The weight limit is just in reference to the child. The car seat is already assumed. :)
