Anyone get an infant car seat setup in a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. I see it has child tether anchors. I have a base unit with the latch system. Can I attach the latches to the anchoring system in the jeep? If not how about using the seat belts? I am expecting my first child at the end of the month, and have no clue about this stuff, especally with my jeep. My wife's car has the latch system so that was easy, but the jeep is a little different.

Congrats in advance on the new baby. :)

Because your Jeep does not have lower LATCH anchors in the vehicle's rear seat crease,* you would need to install the infant seat, or any other type of carseat, using the vehicle's seatbelt, not the carseat's lower LATCH anchor connectors. The top tether anchors in your Jeep are intended to be utilized by a top tether strap on a forward facing harnessed carseat, way down the road when your little one outgrows a rear facing convertible's rear facing limit.

You would need to follow the seatbelt installation instructions in your infant seat's manual to achieve a proper installation of the base in your Wrangler. You could also try to locate a Child Passenger Safety Technician in your area to check out your installation through the list of techs who are members here on Car-seat.org at http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=59135
or through the Safe Kids technician locator at https://ssl13.cyzap.net/dzapps/dbzap.bin/apps/assess/webmembers/tool?pToolCode=TAB9&pCategory1=TAB9_CERTSEARCH&Webid=SAFEKIDSCERTSQL

*Just for reference, Jeep Wranglers weren't factory equipped with lower LATCH anchors until the 2003 model year, and older models such as yours cannot be retrofitted with lower LATCH anchors.
