Brayden's seat has the narrow tongs on the harness to buckle at the crotch. It is starting to crease up and I am having a hard time keeping it flat. I want to order these but it specifically says in the manual not to remove the chest clip or tongs, do any of you techs know how to do it? Is it safe? I called SK but had to leave a message. Thanks!

I'm not a tech, but I just replaced our chest clip last week and it was no big deal. SK sells the chest clip and tongs, so I'm not sure why they say not to remove them in the manual. I know you're not supposed to try to remove the harness, but it's easy peasy to change out clips/tongs.

Just undo the harness from the splitter plate thing as though you were changing the harness height. The chest clip can be a booger to get off the straps, but if you are mindful of the angle at which you are going and pull a loop of webbing through the center to give yourself some leverage it is much easier. Once you've got the clip off just go ahead and put your wider buckle tongs on in place of the old ones. Make sure you put everything back on the right direction, rethread the harness and you're good to go. Nothin' to it.
