Hi there,

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

I do have a couple of questions about the MA tether:

The first is not a question, but an observation...but tethering in a truck is awkward and difficult!

Okay, my questions:

1. Does it matter if the tether strap is twisted? The place for the belt to go through the clip thing that attaches to the anchor is smaller than the belt and causes the belt to twist. The belt is actually twisted in the part where you pull the strap to tighten it.

2. Does it matter what position the clip thing is in when you attach it to the anchor? (does the part that you push in to open the clip have to be facing down?)

I was with DH when he installed DD's MA in his truck an noticed these things. He didn't seem to think it mattered, and was a bit frustrated with trying to get the tether tightened. We had to basically attach the tether first then install the seat, which seems to go against what I have seen.

thanks!

Merry Christmas!!

The twist is built in, there's no way you can untwist it, just make sure it's only the one or two twists that you see (I've wasted many minutes of my life trying to make it straight, but given it's basic geometry, it can't be done :) )
I'm pretty sure it should be aiming down...so all the smooth part of the tether is what is up/out. Unless it's a Ford minivan, some of which have odd instructions about twisting it upside down so it stays hooked.

What kind of truck are you tethering in?

We've TTd in a 2007 GMC2500 crew cab and a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 crew cab. Its definitely different than TTg in a van or SUV. I'm pretty sure my DH also attached (but didn't tighten) the TT first -- you kinda have to b/c they are loops on the back of the seat and hard to get to once the seat is tight.

I can ask DH if he has any tips if you want -- I didn't deal with the installs in the trucks.
