I will have to upgrade from the infant seat soon (ss1) and the car seat will either a) be in my dads car every day while hes at work baking in the sun or b) i will have to repeatedly install and uninstall the seat (its between boulevard and true fit) Would being in the hot car all day every day have a negative impact on the seats safety?

Car seat manufacturers take heat and cold into consideration when setting expiration dates :). I have my car seats sitting in my van all day at work at negative temperatures regularly and don't think twice about it.

Alright, that makes sense, thankyou. I also worry sometimes about if everything else in the car is frozen and i put the seat on the base, if the base being in that freezing environment is going to make it brittle or something but I suppose not.

When my son was little, I bought a big white towel to throw over the seat while it was left in the hot car to prevent burns.
