I just installed two Frontiers in my Dakota Quad Cab, and had a really hard time getting the top tethers tight. The dodge trucks have the webbing loops that you thread the tethers through directly behind the seat and then attach to the tether hook in the center. Normally there will be one frontier and one evenflo generations in each of our dodge trucks, and because the center tether hook is attached inside the webbing loop it has some play to it and I can do the frontier first then the generations making it really tight. But for the occasions when both frontiers are in the same truck it is a pain, and I would really appreciate any tips any one can give me on how to get them really tight.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

The top tethers do not need to be tight. Just take the slack out.

Thanks, I feel much better now! I thought they needed to be tight. I had a local tech tell me mine could be tighter, and that was when I had two Generations in my truck and the tethers tightened easily.

The seatbelt or latch belt is the primary restraint for the carseat. THAT belt should be tight, with less than one inch of movement at the belt path. The top tether is considered a secondary restraint, so it doesn't need to be tight tight. It shouldn't have oodles of excess slack in it, but it doesn't need to be tight like the seatbelt does.

They are installed with latch and are rock solid at the belt path, and the tethers are fairly tight, I can't pull the top of the carseats away from the truck seat, but they just didn't seem as tight as I could get the seats with the single strap tethers. So I should be good then! Thanks:)
