Hi, I am trying to install my blvd rf in the middle of my sisters forester for my brother to use while he is visiting. Is it possible to get a tight install?

My seat belt lock off on the blvd is very hard to clip down, is this normal?
I never used this seat rf for my ds so I never had to install it rf.
I need to install it in the middle because we have 2 cars and 10 people, so we need the other seats for passengers and a passenger would not be able to fit in the middle w/ the car seat out board.

My niece is 4 months old.

Any help would be great!

A friend has a forester and BLVD and had to put it outboard, though I'm not sure how much she really tried to get it in center. I've heard there is some sort of hump in the middle seat of subarus? But if the lockoff is the only problem, keep trying! Those suckers can be tough. Spread the two layers of belt away from each other so they are overlapped as little as possible, and also be sure no belt is in the hinge part.

I have a 2001 Forester and could not get a RF MA in the center. The lockoffs didn't work at all over the seat belt (the stitched part always lined up with the lockoff). But the real problem was that the buckle stalks were too long on both sides. You can only twist up to three times; I needed to twist a gazillion times to get the install tight enough -- but at that point, it wasn't a safe install.

It installed outboard just fine. (ETA: And I still didn't use the lockoffs; they just wouldn't stay closed.)
