I installed DD's MA FF for the first time for a lights show last night. Felt totally fine with doing it. I have some pictures and wanted to have someone just take a quick look at my install. Can someone point me to the thread that tells me how to add pictures to a post? I am no good at the search function and can't find it.

Questions I have that can be answered without pictures. I had to remove the headrest to get the seat installed. The only thing I could find in the manual said do not drive with headrest removed. So what do I do? Is it OK to leave it off? With the shape of the headrest I just really don't see any way to install any seat with it on. Plus, the manual says to route the tether under the headrest between the poles and well with the v-tether the poles are too close together to do that anyway.

I drive a 2004 Toyota Highlander and she's in the passenger side outboard positions.

It's ok to take it off...they just warn you not to because they are needed to prevent whiplash injury for adults...your seat does that for your child, so no need for a head restraint. They also assume your carseat has a single strap, so tell you to run it through the poles so it's going the shortest possible distance and is least likely to put strain on the headrest in a crash. It'd be fine to put it around the outsides if you had left the headrest in
Did you put the LATCH straps to the FF position? Is the seat tight? Is it in upright mode? Was it just too easy to get it installed FF? I'm sure it's fine :)

It is in upright mode. I did switch the latch straps. I did forget the HUGS but have put them on now so that won't happen again. It was super easy. Scary easy. It is rock solid. Shake the car tight!

It does seem like it's too reclined but I think it's because in my head I just see FF installs as being super upright. She's not really reclined at all....actually looks really comfy. I just had this vision of it being uncomfortably upright and well it's not.

Also, I moved her straps up a level and am going to move them back down to where they were when she RF. I guess I assumed you always had to move them up when you made the switch but she is under the 2nd slot (I had moved it to the 3rd). Is that odd?

LOL, yeah, scary easy to install FF, and not bolt upright at all (some folks think it's too reclined, but we adored ours FF...very comfy!). If she was 'at' the second slots, then being more upright FF would make her sink down below them more. If you move them back down and it seems like she's creeping above, then 'when in doubt, move them up'...so you could have a week or two of second guessing whether you are in the right slots. At least it's so easy to do you won't be dreading taking it out to put HUGS on or change the slots (unlike the Frontier... few seats bring dread to my heart like that thing, I haven't taken it out for the recall yet <blush>, but my MA and RA? I could take them out and reinstall them just for the fun of it, lol)
