should I scrap it now?
One of our MAs expires in March. I reinstalled it rf in DH's car due to DS' weight loss and nasty weather. When I checked the movement at the belt path, the base didn't move at all, but the seat slid back and forth (side to side) on the little hinge pin things that connect the base to the seat.
The other two newer MAs we have don't do that. I have a TF coming soon, but was hoping to have both the MA and the TF in DH's car in case his car is what we go to the hospital in to have the baby.

Can you get the seatbelt or latch (whichever you're using) any tighter? I've seen that problem in Britax seats before and it'll usually stop if the seat is tighter :)

Since it's almost expired anyway, I would. It is probably fine, but it's so close to expiring, why not scrap it now.

It's installed with the seat belt. No LATCH in DH's car. I don't think I can get it any tighter because I can't climb into it right now. I'm 38 weeks pg and it's a small car (1996 Nissan Altima).

I know what you're talking about. It has nothing to do with installation. It actually happens on my 2004 seat that my sister has. I think (bad memory currently) I did call and they said slight movement is ok.

It's been discussed on here before. I think I recall somebody getting a replacement seat, but other CR's at Britax saying it was okay.

I know it's expiring soon, but you could still call Britax and ask about it.

Yeah, my BLVD does the same thing, totally normal. It doesn't slide if the seat is in there real tight though.

I think I installed a Roundabout that ended up with the same movement and it was OK'd by the senior checker/ CPST-I.

Yeah, my 2008 MA did it, but mine was more movement than they said was acceptable and it was still under warranty so they replaced it. The CS rep I spoke to also said movement was normal, but I was not comfortable with the amount of movement I was getting and how loose the base was. I personally would scrap it too since it is so close to expiring and just sell the cover off of it if you want.;)

OKay. I'll leave it there until the baby is born just in case we need it, but then I'll scrap it. (DH will be so excited to smash another seat with the tractor LOL!)
I will try calling Britax tomorrow to see how much movement is acceptable. I doubt they'd replace the seat now, but I'd still like to know.

If I remember correctly I was told it couldn't be more than a 1/2 inch of movement when it is sliding side to side.:scratcheshead: Not 100% sure though.:o

1/2 inch? That's good, because mine slides about 1/4 inch.
