Why is it such a no-no to use it after 22 lbs. (or is it 21 lbs?)????? The seat is so roomy it seems that the tall & skinny child would really enjoy the extra padding well past the 22 lb. cut-off. What makes it so dangerous?
Anyone know?

Probably just testing. They have to fork out big bucks to run tests on the seat in *every* possible configuration with *every* possible dummy. The 1 yo dummy is 22 pounds, maybe the 3 yo 35 pound dummy didn't fit well at all with the padding in, so they may not have run the test with 'him' in it, so it's easier to just give parents a clear number in the manual based on what they know is completely safe. And that way it's pretty easy: take out the padding and put the headrest on for your kid at 22 pounds. There's not extra 'if...then...well...but...' statements to confuse parents (most of whom are likely to miss anything more subtle than one big number, as evidenced by the majority of people assuming Alpha Omegas are good till 100 pounds with the harness, kwim?)
