My husband and I are looking at buying a 1994 Volvo GL sedan. Is there anything we should know about installing a Britax Marathon in it? We may not be able to bring the car seat with us when we look, as we'll have to bus and walk quite a ways (we have no car atm and the car isn't insured so they can't drive it to us). Our other option is joining a car co-op which was our first choice but this Volvo is a steal so we are at least considering it.

I've never had a problem with any Britax convertible install in any Volvo, and I've done installs in numerous models and years...It may even have rear-facing tether anchors, although I'm not sure about '94.. I know late '90s did...1996 I think is the earliest I've seen RF TAs.

We had a 1992 Volvo 960 a few years back and had no issue with Britax convertibles. Plenty of space for 3 across or other passengers next to the carseat in the middle. They sure don't make Volvos the same way anymore :(

No rf tethering in this vintage. Though it was easy enough to loop the rf D-ring strap around the bottom of the front seat track for rf tethering.

For ff tethering, there are pre-drilled holes in the back dash and Volvo would install the tether anchor for free.
