Hi,
I was here a few months ago, looking at car seat options for my 2 kids.

If I remember correctly, there was some talk then of a new carseat that was expected to be available in Canada in Dec 2008. It had a RF weight limit higher than the typical 30lb. I don't remember what seat it was, but a lot of people were eagerly anticipating it.

At the time, I got 1 True Fit, but I will soon need to buy at least 1 more car seat. I like the TF, but I don't love it, so I'd like to look at this new seat and see if I like it more.

Thanks very much,
Carol

THe only seat that is 35lbs is the True fit.

The new seat we are waiting for in the Graco Nautilus which is FFing only and then into a booster. It has yet to arrive but Toys R Us has it on their site for relase in March.

We are hoping the existing seats would slowly be available for 35 lbs this coming year. The only one now is the True Fit.

OK, I obviously remembered incorrectly. I must have been confused because I wasn't sure if my daughter (almost 3yo, 30lb) would tolerate a return to RF. So we bought a True Fit and tried it... and she did!

I was thinking that if she didn't, the baby could use the TF and I could get her a bigger seat for FF. That must be why I was wondering about this new seat.

So it won't work for us, the TF is the only option. Good to know.

Thanks!

It looks like there may be other seats coming in 2009 sometime with a higher RF limit, like the Radian XT and maybe others. However, The TF is the only one as of now.

ETA you may have been thinking of the new anticipated FF seat as an alternative for older DD id she didn't take to RF? (That would have been the Graco Nautilus.) But since she is ok RF, then that doesn't matter any more...
