DOM is 9/25/2008.... I wish is was later though. is the cover over the harness on the back new? to fix the catching issue?

Nope, the cover was always there. At the top of the cover (near the edges) there used to be two little holes. If the harness is only pulled loose on one side the splitter plate tends to twist up at an angle and then when you go to tighten it, the edge of the splitter plate gets caught in that little hole.

Newer seats have little plastic caps over the holes to prevent the splitter plate from getting caught up.

You can also prevent it from getting caught by not pulling the harness alllll the way out when loosening (using only one side of the strap) or pull both sides out at the same time.

I keep the chest clip done up and pull on the chest clip to loosen the harness... mine has never gotten caught.

I looked and I don't ssee any holes?:confused: do you know if there is a thread with pics of it? I want to know if mine is the "fixed" version

This thread (http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=61152) has pictures showing the caps and the double sewn harness.

If you have the old harness, you can call Britax and have the harness replaced with the new one.

The caps are really no big deal, imho. Unless you are tugging on one side of the harness only *and* pulling it all the way out, you should not be catching the splitter plate on those holes.
