Any techs in Atlantic Canada?

I'm in Saint John and have been trying to do the course for literally years! Allport the issue here is that our instructors have no funding. I have been in contact with an instructor here that works out of our hospital, she and an RCMP officer teach the course. They have many interested in doing the course, but they have to volunteer their time to teach and provide the materials.

I've been ready willing and able and very eager to do the course, but can't! So frustrating, I'm even willing to go out of province if I have to!

I was actually in N.B. this weekend.. at my in laws in St. Stephen.. what a horrible snowstorm to drive home in!
Anyways..
I live in N.S. about 1 1/2 hours from Halifax and I took the course last year at my local fire hall for free, which was great. If I see anything else coming up (I'm only 2 hours from moncton, 3 from St. John) I will let you ladies know! It was put on by the head woman for St. John's Ambulance for carseat stuff in the Atlantic Provinces,, and im pretty sure she was from N.B. I forget her title.. but it seems funny to me that there wouldn't be ones in N.S.
I can look around to see if there are any plans for more courses? Mine was 3 days (well 2 1/2).. would you guys be willing to come here if there was one?

Unfortunately, mthe majority of us are volunteer and that can cause a problem time wise. Let me get on it and see if I can't get you a course - there are 2 instructors in NB and a couple in NS.... I'll get back!

Allport I realize that techs and instructors are volunteers and volunteering their time, but it's actually costing our instructors out of their pockets to put on the courses. The NB govt will not support them in any way. Child passenger safety is not a huge priority for them. 2 weeks before our booster seat legislation came into effect last spring I emailed them to ask how they were planning on letting the public know. They still didn't have the printed material on hand yet! When we finally got it through our schools there was no explanation of what it was! I had to call our principal to leave a voicemail to explain what it meant! There were no TV ads, the only place I saw it advertised consistently was in the ToysRUS flyer!

So I have a peeve with the NB govt! I've been trying to take this course since 2005, even offered to pay to do and and can't. It's very frustrating!
