A baby trend travel system at my local mall (in use not for sale) AND an Orbit travel system at the kids Christmas party for DH work! I never expected to see an Orbit, I was so shocked! I wonder how they got these into Canada??

I have seen an orbit car seat (not the entire travel system) for sale at a baby boutique here. at the time I didn't think too much of it, just thought wow that is an expensive seat and just assumed it was approved here and there.

I just seen a Regent the other day. It was the tan colour with dots. That seat is HUGE!!!!!!! the man was loading groceries in to the back of his van, i stopped and asked about the seat. His son has CP and needed it. He ordered it through an Canadain retailer and it was shipped here. It was in the 2nd row captian chair of a Caravan, it took up the entire seat and then some.

It was probably the Traveller Plus, as no Canadian retailers should be selling the Regent. The Traveller Plus is, however, approved in Canada. It looks the same, but has headwings and a pad for between the knees...

No it was the Regent, said Britax Regent on the label (just like mine says Britax Marathon). He said a Canadian retailer ordered it for him.
Thats all i know, he was a stranger in the parking lot, and I was the crazy lady checking out his seat LOL

Wow, I cannot imagine any reputable Canadian retailer illegally importing and distributing a seat that is not CMVSS certified like that...I wonder if perhaps they purchased it in the US and were trying to make it sound like it was obtained legitimately.. I suppose we'll never know--unless you're planning on stalking them in the parking lot again? ;)

Its not the 1st time i have seen a Regent...... I have seen a few as I drive by ppl. This was the 1st one I have ever "touched". I have prolly seen 10+ which shocks me, since most kids are in a OHS with the straps cut off, holding down the shield, or the shield and straps off and the seat being used as a BPB.

No, the Orbit would have been a local, at the same venue there was a Mariposa Marathon as well. The Baby trend could have been from out of the US but not likely. Wasn't there an issue with Liquidation World selling BT travel systems?
