View Full Version : Difference between Marathon and Boulevard?

I didn't realize that the Blvd is available in Canada until just now, so I hadn't really thought of it in comparison.
Can someone give me a quick lowdown on MA vs Boulevard?
I can see that the Boulevard has more padding, but I couldn't find any difference from the descriptions on the website except it says the Boulevard RFs to 35 lbs and the MA only to 33 (it's a Canadian store).
I am more concerned about back height than weight, as I have tall skinny LOs. The head padding would be nice though as both my kids tend to fall asleep in the car and I am always propping their heads up with things.
ETA: Also, will it fit in the car the same way as an MA? Bigger/wider/taller/larger base/etc?
TIA! :)

The Marathon and the Blvd have the same base. The top harness height for the Marathon is 17 inches. The top for the Blvd is 16.5. I'm not sure on the shell height for the Marathon, but the Blvd is 25 inches.
Well, I just measured my Blvd and the top harness was 16 inches. It also seemed the bottom was about 14  Maybe it was just a little stuck

Yeah, 14-16" only is stuck. It goes down to about 10" at the bottom and goes to just over 16" at the top. It's the same shell as the Marathon, same base, same LATCH bars, in the US it's the same rear and forward facing limits. It's a Marathon with a headrest that moves up and down with the harness rather than slots for rethreading. That's all.

Just measured again, it was stuck. Maybe because DD was sitting in it (I don't know where she gets her carseat obsession from ). I got it to go down to around 9 inches :)

the Boulevard RFs to 35 lbs and the MA only to 33 (it's a Canadian store).
This is incorrect, both only go to 30lbs in Canada. The only seat that rear facings in Canada above 30 is the Truefit that goes to 35lbs
The harness height is about the same but the BLVD, has SIP wings and a harness adjustor knob.

Interesting, it must be a typo on their website then. This is the link for the Boulevard for sale: http://www.thebabydepot.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_50&products_id=658
And the link for the MA: http://www.thebabydepot.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_50&products_id=113
I wonder if they have other inaccuracies on their site.

It seems everywhere has just copied the US Site.

Another quick question about the True Side Impact Protection. I can't tell from the pictures--are those head wings pillows or true supports? Will they move up with a toddler or will I have to take them off at some point?
I like the idea of them if they will move up and be a toddler head support.
Hmm are there Britax manuals online anywhere?

Neither, really. They are just "wings" lined with EPS foam. They are NOT removable.
One thing I dislike about the Blvd is that it only has EPS foam in the wings, whereas the Marathon has the foam from the bottom to the top.

The wings move up and down with the harness, though, right? Otherwise their head wouldn't have the foam beside it all the time.

Right. Otherwise bigger kids would get their shoulders stuck under them.
