Dh and one of my good friends roll their eyes any time I bring up anything about carseats.

Dh goes along with whatever I say (extended harnessing, ERF, installation, etc), but with a lot of eye rolling. He doesn't even ask questions anymore. :) Last weekend he was down at his friend's house and happened to notice their 22 month old daughter's seat installation. He came home complaining about how bad it was and said he even tried to help them tighten it! And then he even asked me for seat recommendations for them AND he convinced them to take all their cars and seats to a tech to have the seats checked AND he convinced them that the chest clip really is a chest clip and it won't hurt their little princess by being where it is supposed to be! (He even tried to convince them to ERF but that didn't go anywhere.)

Then, I get an e-mail from my friend (whose 4 y/o twins are about to outgrow their evenflough triumph (not advance)) asking what booster/car seat I have for my kids--recommended the GN to her in case you are wondering.

Whoo hoo! Just wanted to share! :D

Congrats! Woo!
My dh goes along with whatever I say also...doesn't say anything. But, I doubt he listens.
Well, at his job..someone had their 8 month old daughter in a forward facing cosco harness/booster seat WITH THE SHOULDER STRAPS CUT OFF!!! The lady said that it her daughter screamed when she was 'in the stupid backwards seat' and that her daughter didn't like being confined so she cut the shoulder straps and tied them off ..so it was somehow just a crotch buckle (like a 3pt crotch buckle on a stroller or table booster seat/highchair)..:thumbsdown:
He talked her into getting a Cosco Scenera...she won't rearface her 8 month old but she at least got a better seat for her (WITH shoulder straps!!! oh my!!).
I was so proud that he talked to her about it and recommended a good seat for her! He actually listens!

Sometimes dh's rock. :)

YAY! You see if you talk about it enough, it might eventually seep into their brains.

Yay... sometimes our dh's will be like that... not feeling the obsession and not wanting to hear about it all the time... but they do get it!

My brother used to think I was totally nuts about carseats. Then I explained to him that car accidents are the leading cause of death and injury to people aged 1-34 or something like that. And that I would much rather do my research now, and do everything I can to protect her, than have that added guilt if something were to happen, that I should have done it before. That made sense to him, and I haven't heard anything about it from him since. He learned the 1" at the beltpath rule and he reads labels so now I trust him to install my carseat and take my daughter. I still check it myself if I am there but I'm just a bit neurotic that way
