I know that aftermarket products are a big no-no and here's a new one to add to the list. I guess I've never really seen my kids bounce around in a booster seat like that. If the seatbelt were properly adjusted in the first place, there wouldn't be that problem of sliding around.

Any ideas? Comments?

There was a discussion about it on CPSPList earlier this year. Basically everyone decided those kids were somewhat dramatic actors :rolleyes: It's probably not dangerous (no different from a car with lightweight locking latchplates), but there's no real need for it for a kid who's the right size and mature enough to ride in a booster :) (and if anything, they show the movement and mention what could happen in a crash, it seems like a good advertisement for extended harnessing or a highback booster, doesn't it?)

did you watch the other videos?? they showed a seatbelt that would lock at the shoulderbelt. Well, fixing the movement in that case would be as simple as locking the belt on the child, which my kids do every time in their dad's car that has those belts.

that is just an american version of the british c-g lock.

anyway... that movement is way beyond what I've seen happen in a car doing those moves... though I don't have slippery leather or anything.

I think it definitely would be helpful for swaying people to latchable boosters, but I have trouble believing that product alone would make that much difference.

and did you notice the belt on the girl at the beginning?? it wasn't threaded properly... the shoulder portion was over/slightly behind the armrest of the booster.
