I am needing advice/suggestions on what would be a good next seat for DS. He'll be three in December and I know that he soon will be at the weight where we can no longer use the 5pt harness on his AOE. I have a Britax Decathlon in my car, the new seat will go in DH's (BMW 2000 4dr).

Also, are they any inexpensive 5pt harness boosters out there? I would really like to have a seat in my mother's car-more for just in case instances-as DS have never had a need to ride in her car before.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Walmart and Amazon have the Graco Nautilus for 122 now, vs. 159ish... I would look into that. It harness' to 65 pounds, turns to a High back booster and then to a Low back booster

I second the Nautilus... it's a great seat!

All of the harnessed boosters that are much less expensive only harness to 40lbs then have to be used as a booster. At his age, if he's already getting close to the 40lb limit, I'd definitely go for something with a higher weight limit.

Thank you for the replies! I did check out the Nautilus on Amazon and I saw it at Target Wednesday.

Oh, I forgot to mention that his weight must include clothes, shoes, and full belly... your siggy says he's about 35lbs. With everything included he could be VERY close to that 40lb limit on his current seat.

You may have already known that, just wanted to make sure. ;)

If you want something inexpensive for Granparents car, the Apex is $65 at Big Lots right now! You will get more use out of a Nautilus but if you have high seat backs or adjsutable head rests, the Apex is a great option at only $65, esp for a granparents vehicle.
