This week, I was out shopping, and wound up at a local store that sells baby equipment. I was talking to a store clerk there and mentioned that I was in the market for a convertible carseat. She asked me how old the baby was and how much the baby weighed. I told her the baby will be approximately six or seven months old when she moves into the convertible and I don't know how much she will weigh, but I am guessing she will weigh about 16-18 pounds. The move into

The clerk said, "Oh, good. She isn't a small baby." She then recommended the Cosco Summitt.
I said, "No. I need a convertible."
The clerk then said, "Well, this one is convertible. It has a harness and is then a booster."
I said, "No. I need a rear-facing seat."
The clerk said, "Well, not really. Once they can sit up they can move into this kind of seat."
WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I did report this to the manager and will be contacting the district manager. I was horrified!!

Scary! I'm glad our local stores dont keep clerks in the baby department besides BRU (who now has 1 tech and another guy who seems rather knowledgeable. I have spoken with the second guy i like the first too much! :o )

I'm glad you reported it! I would have never thought to report it to someone in the store (i would have emailed the company though)

I swear, it's idiots like that make we want to work at a baby store. Heck, I'd love to open my own, but I live in podunk Oklahoma, and there isn't a market here for anything so specialized. And I do NOT want to drive 1hr into a major city to try and run a business.

But I'm soooo addicted to baby gear....sigh....
