safest position of car seat in van

I am having child #2 and am interested to know the safest position for children to ride in a van? I know, obviously, all children are to ride in the back but in a van does that mean middle seat in the middle of the van or middle of third row seat?

Welcome! I have a couple questions. How old is your first? Rear facing or forward facing?

I don't have a van but, I think I would use the middle row if the seats will fit for both children. Also, I put my least protected child (forward facing) in the most protected spot (middle seat).

What kind of van do you have? I keep all kids in the middle row if possible. The most important thing is to make sure the car seat and kid are installs correctly every time.
