Trouble with LATCH installation on Evenflo triumph

I just got an evenflo trumph XL today and I cant get the LATCH to be tight enough. I have put my weigt on the seat and pulled and pulled and the thing wont get any tighter. I guess I may have to install it with the seatbelt I guess. It just wont get tight. Any suggestions. Oh and its rear facing.

Make sure when you pull that you are pulling parallel to the belt. I also put just a little more weight on the side where it tightens and I can get it rock solid. I almost have to sit in the seat but it will get tight. I find it helps if the adjuster is in the center of the car away from the door. Also for RF check that you have switched the buckles so it lies flat. Just pull up the cover and check.

Make sure you check for tightness only at the belt path. The part of the seat closest to the front of the vehicle will have some movement, and that's fine. Just test at the belt path, using your non-dominant hand and tug it.
