View Full Version : Question car seat touching latch anchors?

When I reinstalled a Titan in DH's Sebring today (rearfacing) I noticed that the recline foot rests on the metal latch anchor (the car anchor). Is this okay?
This causes the latch clips to rub against the recline foot. So when I installed my new Titan in my Trailblazer next, it would do the same if not for the pool noodles. There are pool noodles in the Sebring too but they are more squished down.
I hope I posted this in the right forum.

It should be fine, unless it's the push-on connectors and the base were pushing on the red buttons that would possibly release them from the LATCH. Just the regular LATCH hooks aren't going to come undone, and if it's installed well, I wouldn't sweat it :)

I agree with Jools.

I think there are actually few situations where the base doesn't touch the connectors or even anchors. Standard LATCH spacing is 11" and pretty much all seat bases are wider than that. If it was a concern, we'd have seen some major redesigns by now. :twocents:

Thanks!! I was pretty sure latch spacing was standard and that what I noticed was okay but it never hurts to ask. Better safe than sorry!! It just looked kinda wierd.
