I just turned my 3.5 year old from RF to FF today, (he went from 31 lbs to 34 lbs in a very short time). I installed our Radian FF on the seat behind the driver in our 2000 Dodge Grandcaravan. When I went to test the installation which I thought was in pretty tight, it was in solid when I tried to move it from left to right, but it moved way foward when I tugged. No matter how hard I pull to tighten the seatbelt and push my knee into the seat to have it snug against the back seat, I am unable to tighten it any more and the seat still moves too much.
I cannot twist the female buckle in my van and I cannot recall whether it is ok to twist the the male part.
Please advise?
Thanks

Try extending the Radian's FF only recline foot (it's built into the front edge of the base) and see if that helps tighten up the install. This worked for me in several cars and I saw it work for another tech who was installing a Radian FF in the second row captain's chair in a Caravan from the same or a very similar model year. You can flip the male end of the seatbelt at the latchplate over before buckling it if you find that the locking latchplate is slipping, but it may or may not make a difference in the overall tightness of the installation.
P.S. Congrats on keeping your little one rear facing until age 3.5, well done.

Thanks, I will try that. :thumbsup:DS is 3 years and 8 months so I am super happy that he could stay RF for so long :)

It worked!! Thank you.:) It still moved at first, but then I got my hand inside and kept pulling and pulling in the direction from where the buckle clicks in and now it moves less than 1 inch.

Yep, that's what I have to do in my car in the outboard positions. Glad it worked!
