My car seat is in pieces... I don't know how to put it back together.... I think my mom lost a piece but I'm not sure... the cloth had to be cleaned and it was just taken apart as much as possible... now, I can't use it, so I've been walking everywhere... this has been messing up my arthritis.... I'd love to register here but I can't because this site won't show all the fields to register... I think I"m going to kill myself if this goes on for much longer!!!!!!!!!

Did you post about your difficulty registering the other day? If so, the thread is here (http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=62001). Try clearing your cache or using a different browser if you have more than one installed (e.g., if you usually use Explorer, try using Safari or Firefox).

The first thing you need to do is find and read the instructions. If you don't have them, you can contact the seat manufacturer to get them. The instructions will tell you how to reassemble the seat. If there is a missing piece, you may be able to order a replacement from the manufacturer.

Also, if the straps were washed in the wash, order a new set.

Who is the seat manufacturer? Many have instructions available online or they could e-mail them to you. As you are putting the seat back together, call the manufacturer at the 1-800 number. They are oten a big help if you have difficulties!

Another option is to make an appointment with a certified child passenger safety technician near you. Again, bring the car seat owner's manual and all parts, and the the tech know what you are needing.

For future reference, take pictures or video of the seat as it is being taken apart! That way you will have a visual of putting it back together as well as how it should look!

This is good advice, but even better advice is to follow the instructions when removing the cover for washing. Some parts aren't intended to be removed.
