Is a 40 degree recline okay for a 4m old with good head control? I intalled it in a BMW but cant get more of a recline.
He looks really really good in it and I was comfortable with the install but I wasnt sure if it was okay or not.

She is going to buy a new carseat b/c the AO will not fit in her KIA. She is wanting to go with a Britax. I am going to put my BLVD in her KIA tomorrow to see what kind of recline we can get. I think the car may be a spectra? I know it is a smaller Kia.

Any other recomendations on carseats? She may not be able to install it in the center b/c of the size of her sons booster.
I mentioned the True Fit but I wasnt sure what kind of recline we could get with it.

Her 4m old is 20lbs and I think 27".

Thanks everyone. She is a friend or else I wouldnt be doing this.

A 40 degree recline is fine as long as the baby's head doesn't fall forward when he falls asleep.

You should be able to get a big Britax in the Kia. I got on in my DH's MINI with no problem. Is the KIA a 4 door? That will definately help. You may be able to get the AO in there though. Have you tried installing it without the base?

I think the EFTA fits pretty well in tight spaces also. I haven't tried it personally, but I am pretty sure I read somewhere here that it has a pretty small front to back space requirement.

Good luck.

It really depends on the baby. I really don't go by strict measurements, I just go with what works for that baby-- I'd say generally for newborns that falls between 40 and 45 degrees.

Okay thanks...

I tried it with the base and wasnt able to get a better recline in the BMW.
I am going over tomorrow to try installing it in her KIA. Yes it is a 4-door.
I will try w/o the base.

I told her to watch his head for slumping.

I think she is getting a Blvd. but it could take 6-8 weeks to get here so in the meantime I need to help her with this.

I used to own a 01 Hyundai Elantra (a smaller car) and was able to install a Scerena in the middle seat, but it was a tight fit. The same goes for the FPSVD that I have. It might also be easier to install because I was trying to get a 45 degree angle.

I am going to try in the middle but she has her 7yr old in a Cosco backless that is quite wide. I am not sure how it will interfere with the install.

We will see.

Oh and I HATE the locking clips!!! UGH! Her BMW belts don't lock (older german car). It was too much work for me and it was hurting me (im preggo) so she had to get in and get the seat buckled withthat dang h locking clip. @@

Luckily the belts lock in the KIA and there is LATCH outbound.
