I have an 06' chrysler town and country mini van, the short wheel base. It has a second row bench instead of captains chairs. My 5 year old is ready for a booster and my 6 month old is ready to be out of a carrier style seat. I want to get a Britax parkway for my 5 year old and a decaltholon for my 6 month old. I would perfer them to be together on the second row bench, but it isn't a must. Does anybody know if a decatholon will fit rearfacing behind passenger seat and still be able to use the front seat? Or will it have to be moved so far forward that it can't be used? Any tips or suggestions welcomed.

I don't have experience with the T&C specifically, but my experience with the Marathon in other minivans and SUVs suggests that it is very unlikely that putting the Decathalon in the 2nd row will interfere with the ability to use the front seat. You may not be able to push the front seat all the way back, but there should still be plenty of room between the front passenger and the airbag (check your manual, but the minimum distance is usually 10").

Also keep in mind that a 6 month old usually doesn't need a full 45 degree recline angle, and often, older infants and toddlers prefer to sit more upright. This will give you even more room.

Thanks. She definately does not need the full 45 incline. She sits very well without support and prefers to sit up as much as possible. So with less of an incline...it shouldn't be a problem! Thanks a bunch.

I have a T&C touring and a rear facing Decathlon for my 8 month old and it is a great fit. I did have to connect the D ring to the bolt where the pasanger seat belt connects to the floor, and then teether to that.
