ok... ds is still only 20 mths but dps dd is turning 4 soon. she's 34 ish pounds and rides in a britax evolva with harness on (limit 40 lbs) so will have some time yet too.
anyway. i know i want to import a high harness weight limit seat eventually and thought if nothing better comes along id go with the regent or frontier. now i have found out that it is illegal to retrofit top tether anchors in the eu  so theres not much point in getting these seats.
i had a quick look round and am i right in thinking that i could use the nautilus without the tether? i know it doesnt harness for as long but i suppose its the next best thing?
what other seat could i get? (obviously im aware that there might be new seats in a few years time but i woudl like to get dps dd a seat too and she will need it sooner)

so to sum up my question really:
which car seat can i use that harnesses for a long time and doesnt need tethering?
both kids seem to be light but have quite longish torsos.
thanks for any help! (i have a brother in law in america and a friend, both who could either bring a seat across or who could send one across so thats not a problem)
oh and we drive a vauxhall vectra sri

thanks

Who told you it was illegal to retrofit top tether anchors in the uk?

I have a Jaguar X type, and they are able to retrofit isofix /latch points and top tethers. Obviously at a cost - not free like some can in the USA.

I am still undecided as to whether i will get it done, as I am looking at changing my car in about a year, and all the seats are good with seats belts in my car at the moment!

forgot to add.... on a recent rip to the usa, i bought x2 radian 80's and a nautilus.

i use one of the radians rf in my car, and have used the nautilus in booster mode only fro friends of ds.

you do not need to top tether either of these seats. you can.... but don't have to. they harness to 80lbs and 65lbs

you dont have to top tether the radian? really? that would give me another option...

but will he really last in that till he doesnt need one cos he has got a long body like his dad. (to give you an idea, dad and i are both the same height yet when i put a pair of his jeans on by mistake they were about 5 inches too short in the leg - he is all torso :D) id like to get one like the frontier or nauti cos i can continue using them in booster mode until he doesnt need it any more...

Where are you in uk? I have a nautilus and radian you could try out and see how fits if you are close to south Manchester?
