Hi,
We have 2 kids in Graco Cargos in the back seat of our cars.
We are now expecting number 3, and are wondering if most back seats can accomodate 2 Radians in addition to an infant carrier.
Anybody ever try this with a 98 Neon or 04 Forrester?

We are hoping not to buy a van....

Thanks!

2 Radians would definitely be your best bet to get it to work, but you may be able to do it with other seats as well. How old are your kids, and how much do they weigh?

ds1 is almost 4, and weighs about 38 lbs
ds2 is 2, and weighs about 29 lbs

We are in Canada as well--so we are more limited than our luckier US counterparts.

It is funny with the Cargos, there is actually more room in the back seat of our old Neon compared to the Subaru.

in a neon, I think Radians are the best option.

I fit a cargo, comfort sport (forward or rear facing) and a snug ride in a Neon. It was tight, but worked.

I believe the Cargo is more narrow than the Radian, isn't it? And the Cargo goes to 48 lbs in Canada, right? So, unless their shoulders are taller than the top slots, I would just use those. According to the carseatdata website, The Baby Trend is the narrowest infant seat. Possibly you could try that, or is it not available in Canada?

There is definitely not room for 2 Cargos and a infant seat in either car currently.

ds1 is about 38 lbs, 39" tall
ds2 is about 29 lbs, 34.25" tall

I don't think I have seen a Baby Trend, but that does not mean that they are not out there.

Baby Trend is not available in Canada. And unfortunately I don't know which would be the narrowest infant seat. Maybe someone else will know:) I think the Radian must be narrower at the base than the Cargo. Where do you live? Maybe there is a store nearby that sells the Radian so you can try it out. If not, maybe one of us lives near you...

I didn't see where he said he was in Canada or not.

I assumed he was in the US... oy-vey

I would keep the cargos and try a snugride between them or to one side of the two together.

The cargos are actually equal in width in the bottom portion and narrower in the top portion when compared to the Radian, so they should actually give you more room.
