Every once in a while I have a continuous problem only with this site. It last for a day or a couple of days then stops for a while. When opening some threads I get this http://ads.modules.com....at the bottom of my screen, the screen freezes and I have to end the program and start all over again. It's very random, on some posts but not on others. But very frustrating! Is it just me, or does anyone else have this problem? And any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

(And if this should go in the Admin area please move it...I'm just at this moment realizing maybe it should have gone there...sorry!)

I've never had that happen. I do have a pop up blocker though.

lovinwaves...thanks for moving. I *knew* I was wrong as I was typing but going back might have meant freezing again and I was already SO frustrated! :o

I have a pop up blocker also. And it's only happening on my work computer. I've tried looking it up and it's some kind of google thing but it's not in my list of installed programs, nor is it coming up on a search of my pc. I'm not really good with the spyware or any of those things so I'm clueless right now!

I'll take any suggestions I can get! Thanks! :)

(And I just had a carpload of steroid pumped into my body yesterday...so forgive all the !!!!!! :p)

The Car-Seat.Org forum software has nothing like this at all. The only thing you'd get from the forum itself is a cookie that keeps track of whether you are logged in or not and such.

There are Google and Amazon.Com ad placements. They aren't pop-ups, but their scripts may contain other content. I suspect this is likely the cause. If you can tie this problem to a specific company's advertisement that appears when the error happens, please let me know! I can then look into it and possibly restrict it.

Weird, the same thing has been happening to me!

Aha! It's contagious!!

Thanks Darren. Since my last post it stopped. So weird. I did clean up everything I could find on my work pc and since it was a google thing a removed google as my homepage to see if that had anything to do with it. Not sure what did the trick but it stopped.

If it happens again I'll try to be aware of any google or amazon ads to see if it's related to that.

And scatter...is it still happening to you?

Yes, it's still happening to me, but not with any real consistency I can find, and mostly at Recipezaar, not as often on this site. Maybe I'll try getting rid of Google Chrome and Google as my homepage and see what happens.
