Title says it all, I personally think they wouldn't be recommended. Anybody know for sure?

Here is a post from a little while back where someone asked about this product:

I think most techs will say that it isn't a safe product since it is installed under the carseat. Also, that tray looks like it could be dangerous if a child was thrown forward during an accident.

No they aren't safe. It is hard plastic and could hurt the child in a collision. If it came loose it would also become a projectile.
I have the snack & play travel tray (http://www.amazon.com/Star-Kids-Products-LLC-Travel/dp/B000KJBFC8). It is soft and light and wouldn't hurt if it became a projectile although you have to be careful what you put on the tray as that will become a projectile.

Thanks for backing it up! I wasn't interested in getting one, a lady on my birth board was recommending it for a foot prop, but I wanted to double check before I said anything about it.
