why, oh why can't they pre-assemble these things? It would remove so much misuse with the missing screws.

:ROTFLMAO:
Hmmm, lets see.....
1 they would have to pay the workers more money to fully assemble the seat
2 the pay increase would lead to an increase of the price of the booster for the consumer
3 if parents have to pay more for a no back booster (instead of putting their DC in a seat that is safer:rolleyes:) then they won't buy a seat at all for them
4 if they don't sell the no back seat then the company will go belly up from a decrease in sales profits leaving us the consumer to bail them out :duck:
5 and the most important for the retailer.... they wouldn't be able to stock as many on the shelf :p

I think how to stock them on the shelf is pretty important... but also, with the new packaging, it could be used when you travel with the seat... and this makes it fit better in an overhead bin or under the plane's seat.

But then you have to bring your screwdriver with you and couldn't that be used as a weapon?

:yeahthat: unless the package is roomier than it appears, it's going to be a single-use type thing.

I thought the arm rest kind of snap in to the base.. I think the only thing I had to use a screw driver on was the clip that holds the seat belt..I may be wrong..

They go into the armrests to hold them in place. Many parents "skip" this step, resulting in mis-use.

That's why we hate that the seat doesn't come fully assembled - very few parents actually know they have to use screws to completely attach the armrest. As Tanya said, such a high misuse item!

I put the screws in mine when I bought it.. I had just forgotten that I had to do that.. we NEVER used that seat.. we bought it for a quick use where I was sitting in the back seat with my son...
I did call my sister and asked her if she put the screws in her 3 backless TB and she said No.. I swear she is a freaking idiot..

Maybe I'm weird, but when I got my seat all disassembled I read the directions...
