View Full Version : Radian in 2006 Toyota Prius with UAS???

Hello all,
My little boy (6) is going to be traveling back and forth to school in a taxi. I have a Radian 65 and the cab is a 2006 Toyota Prius. I install the seat when they pick him up and the school installs it for the trip home (I will be typing up an install sheet and going over it with the school and the person who will do the install). I've tried looking for the car manual online but have not had any luck yet.

Can you use the UAS/LATCH anchors in the centre position (I think there were just the outboard ones, wondering if you can borrow from each side)?

Has anyone installed a Radian in this vehicle?

I am fairly confident that I got a good install in the centre position using lower anchors and top anchor...but always good to hear from others. The biggest install problem was my dear boy attempting to sit in the seat as soon as it was in the car but not secured, lol. I didn't have much time to play with it, it was solid, but grrrr, I hate wondering.

When is the Nautilus coming to Canada??? Does it install in the Prius nicely? We have the Britax Frontier available but from the little bits I have read the Nautilus is the favourite and the Frontier has a few issues.

The only question I can answer is the one about the Nautilus. I believe last we heard it should be here around the end of November.

Thank you, we should have no problem making it to November in order to get a Nautilus.

Hopefully you can get a more definite answer from one of the techs on here, but as far as I know, you cannot use LATCH in the center seat of the Prius. We have a Prius, and my mom has one as well, and I'm pretty sure I was told at some point on here that if we wanted to use use LATCH it has to be one of the outboard seats in the Prius.

Yes, I found it online after searching a bit more - no UAS in centre position. I'm going to see if I can do a UAS install outboard in the morning.

You are correct. No UAS capability in the middle centre position, only outboards.
