My little guy is almost 6 months, and at almost 28" and 20 lbs, was outgrowing his safety first designer 22 seat.
I ended up getting a Graco Safeseat as we want to waot for the Nautilus to arrive in Canada. What will happen then is, my 2.5 year old who is currently in a Radian will move into the nautilus, and my little guy will go from the safeseat into the Radian. I know that the bigger he gets in the safeseat the heavier it will be to take in and out of the car, but I got such a good deal on this seat from a friend, I couldn't say no. It will at least buy us some time! And at least I still have the option of taking the seat out of the vehicle if I need to. Anyhow, here's where I need help

I took the cover off the SS to wash. All the padding etc is in mint condition, but I noticed that along where babe's bum is, there is no padding. BUT, the cover is so cushy that you can't really tell once the cover is on.
Does anyone have pics of the SS without the cover on? I want to make sure I am not missing anything!

Thanks, and I must say, the base with the lock off is by far, the easiest seat base I've ever installed!!!!

Thanks
Erin

This is what my sister's looks like:

Is that what you're talking about? I asked the same thing about hers (it was brand new) and was assured that's normal.

That is what mine looks like, and there is no foam or anything under the bum part.
The bum part is the part I was wondering about.
But mine looks like your pic does
Thanks

Mine's the same way. Never bothered my babe though! I think unless it's a "Gracopedic" model, it doesn't have anything in the butt area.

Thanks ladies! I kind of figured that was the way it was supposed to be.
I do love this seat!

Yup, no foam under butt or behind lower back. If you're in an area of Canada that gets cold Canadian winters (like the prairies), and don't park in a heated garage, you'll find the seat base gets brutally cold in the winter, and that cold transfers right through the plastic in the seat and onto baby's back (especially noticeable if you put babe in seat with regular clothing, NO snowsuit/fleece suit). It's the one thing I hated about the seat, loved everything else. We park in a detached garage so it wasn't as cold as parking outside, and even with remote start in our vehicle, the plastic base just didn't warm up on those brutally cold days.
