Now that i have both kids in Radian 65 in the van, i would love to have them inspected to make sure i did it right, and also to see if my ideas for a 3rd seat when we have a friend along is right as well.
Would love to connect with someone on this side of the bridge.

If you're not able to come out to Delta (where I am) there is a check on October 14th, at the Coq. BCAA--2773 Barnett. It's from 10am-3pm, and you can call 877-247-5551 for an appointment. Just a bit of warning--Radians still aren't all that common at checks (mostly see infant seats and 3-in-1/AOEs) so you may end up knowing more about your install than the tech :)

Would you drive out to Ridge? Sept 30th at Westgate Mall is drop-in (YAY!) from 10am-3pm with an hour off for lunch 12-1...(not sure they'll take the time off for lunch if they're busy though.) Oct 4th at Willingdon Costco in Burnaby 10-3 is also drop-in, and I'm 99% sure that's one of Linda's checks (I just did Surrey/Langley Costco with her this past weekend) and should be fairly easy to get into as long as she has a second tech on. If you go to that one, you can let her know that I referred you.

When I got pulled over at a BCAA/RCMP roadside check this summer, it was Linda's sister and she didn't know what a Radian or Apex was, asked me if they were Canadian seats, didn't check the labels, and took my word for it. (They are). But at least they'll be able to tell you if it's tight enough, etc.

i will see if i can make that one next tuesday - highly doubt it due to work, but will try.
sucks that the tech are not up to date on Radian. does the same go for all 65lb car seats? who is responsbile for training the BCAA techs on new seats?

I guess that technically the BC techs are responsible for staying up to date, themselves. In other areas, instructors do regular update classes to ensure that their students are up-to-date. Here in BC, the instructor:student ratio is such that I can't see this happening. I believe we only have one instructor in BC now, possibly a second. This means that this one person is responsible for updating all of the techs in BC--which not only would be a massive undertaking, but also we then run the risk of missing information. One person, instructor or not, can't "know it all", update all the students, train new students, run clinics, etc, etc. It doesn't happen here. Many techs see new seats for the first time when they come into a clinic, and we'd be ignorant to assume that they'd been proactive enough to read the manual when that seat was released. Can o' worms, definitely. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're not good technicians, it just means that we have a long way to go still in organizing things here in BC.

Do I need a Costco membership for this check? Can they and are they knowledgeable with checking my True Fit install?

You don't need a Costco membership. I doubt they've seen too many TrueFits, if any.. So they may not know any of the quirky stuff like lockoff use, headrest weights, and recline angle.

I would try to get to Nicole if you can.
I have to install my Radian FFing and am very hesitant because not many out there know about the seat.
