Loose EPS Foam on '08 Radian 65...WWYD?

Hi-I'm new here but I've been lurking for a while:) After much research and deliberation, I bought a Radian 65 for my ds (14.5mos, 24lbs, 30''). We bought it mainly for the safety ratings and reviews and thought it would be the safest seat for our money. Much to my dismay, when we got home I was tinkering with it and found that the EPS foam on the upper portion of the seat on the sides is loose-like the glue used to attach it to the frame quit working. In fact, one one side I can pull it away from the frame with ease. There are also slight depressions on the edges of the foam-like it got damaged in shipping somehow. Should I be concerned about these things and return it to the store? Is it safe to use? Should I contact Sunshine Kids about it? I don't know what to do. Also, should I be looking at a different seat alltogether? Just when I thought we found the perfect seat, this happens! I'm getting frustrated and driving my dh crazy in the pursuit of the best and safest car seat for our LO. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi,
I can't really give you any answers, but was kind of wondering the same thing....
i have the radian 80 and feel like the sides are quite flimsy, if you pull or push the seat by the sides, it almost creaks!!!!!!:eek:
i have britax and recaro seats also, and they seem so much stronger on the side!!!
Anyone else feel the same?

I'm so glad it's not just me! It does creak on the sides and that doesn't make me feel very safe putting my son in it...I wonder what others think about it.
